What the numbers mean
200 lm a head. Twenty times the Beau Jardin at 10 lm, and that difference is not subtle: this is a path light you can read by, that one is a marker you can see. Neither is wrong — a line of dim markers down a walk is a legitimate look and often the nicer one — but know which you are buying.
Eight in the box, about a 2 m spread each. At a spread of two metres, eight lights covers roughly a 24 ft walk down one side with the spacing the pathway hub recommends, or a shorter walk down both.
Four stem heights. More useful than it sounds. Grass grows; a light set low in April is a light in a meadow by July.
ABS plastic. Nothing to rust, which genuinely matters on something staked in a lawn that gets watered. The trade is that it looks like plastic in daylight, where the Beau Jardin’s stainless and glass does not.
Solar, with a sealed battery. This is the number that is not on the listing and the one that decides how long you own it. See below.
Who it is for
- A walk or a drive edge where running low-voltage cable is not going to happen.
- Anyone who wants actual light on the path rather than decorative markers.
- Lawns where a metal stake would corrode.
Who should buy something else
- You want these working in year five: buy the VOLT brass kit instead and accept the trenching, or any wired system. No solar stake light on this page is a five-year product and it is dishonest to imply otherwise.
- You want markers, not floods: the Beau Jardin at 10 lm, with a replaceable cell. Side by side.
- You are already in the Ring ecosystem: the Ring Pathlight.
What we could not check
We have not staked these. Solar is the category where our not having tested matters most, because the thing that kills a solar light takes two years to happen and no amount of reading the listing will tell you about it.
Here is the specific risk, stated plainly: the battery is sealed and not replaceable. Every solar light dies when its cell stops holding charge — that is not a defect, it is chemistry, and it is usually two to three seasons. On the Beau Jardin you replace a 950 mAh AA-format cell for pocket change and carry on. On this one, a dead cell is a dead light and eight dead lights are eight new lights. Over a decade that is not the cheaper product, whatever the two prices say today.
The review record splits in a way that fits that story. One owner reports thirty-plus units through three Texas summers with no failures. Against that, multiple reviewers report four of eight units in one set failing together inside three months, which is not battery chemistry — that is a batch. We cannot tell you which batch you will get.

Price tiers are our own rough budget bands, not live prices. Check the listing for today’s price. The price itself stays on the listing, where it is current, rather than here, where it would go stale. The same catalogue drives the calculator, so a number here and a number there are the same number.
