The differences that matter
- Count: the Linkind 8 is eight lights in the box; the Ring Pathlight is one. A whole path needs several Rings.
- Power: the Linkind is solar with a battery that is not replaceable, which its product notes call the whole risk. The Ring runs on four D-cells, not solar, about a year a set per its listing.
- Brightness: the Linkind is 200 lm a head, the Ring is 80 lm at 3500K.
- Behaviour: the Ring has motion detection to 15 ft across 140 degrees, plus a dusk-to-dawn glow mode. The Linkind has a light sensor you can switch on or off.
- Smart features: the Ring listing says scheduling and linking to other Ring devices needs a Ring Bridge; without one it is a standalone motion light. The Ring is rated IP66, the Linkind is listed only as weatherproof ABS.
