Who each one is for
The Govee Lights 2 (100 ft) is for a house where colour is the main event and white is an occasional setting. It has 72 lights at 17 in, but its white is mixed from the colour LEDs and tops out around 4000K.
The Enbrighten Vibe Eternity (100 ft) is for someone who wants the same layout from Jasco instead of Govee, with a dedicated white channel and a kit that can be cut to fit. Its listing names no IP rating.
The differences that matter
On paper the two share a shape: 72 lights at 17 in across 100 ft.
- White. The Eternity has a dedicated adjustable white channel. The Lights 2 mixes white from its colour LEDs and has no true warm setting. The warm vs cool guide shows why that matters on a house you will mostly leave in white. Our data does not give a white range for the Eternity.
- Cutting. The Eternity is cuttable, comes as six 16.5 ft strands, and links up to 200 ft. The Lights 2 cannot be cut and joins in fixed segments, up to 9 light segments and 4 extension cables.
- Weather. The Lights 2 is IP67 on the lights with an IP65 control box and adapter. The Eternity listing states a -4F to 131F range, ETL and NEC compliance and the word weatherproof, but no IP rating.
- Brightness. The Lights 2 is 40 lm per light. The Eternity listing does not give a per-light figure we can compare.
- Control. The Eternity uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi app with schedules and automations, plus Alexa and Google Home. The Lights 2 uses the Govee Home app with Alexa and Google Assistant.
- In the box. The Eternity includes mounting brackets, 3M VHB tape, screws, cord clips, a power supply and an extension cable. The Lights 2 includes VHB glue, clips, screws and adapter buckles.
Which to buy
- Warm white most nights, or an odd roofline length: the Eternity. The dedicated white and cuttable strands both help.
- Colour first: the Lights 2, in the same cost tier, which gives up the warm white and cutting but states its weather ratings.
- You want a stated IP rating: the Lights 2.
- You would rather not buy Govee: the Eternity is made by Jasco and sold under the Enbrighten name. Check the warranty terms on the listing.
When to pick neither
If you need a stated warm 2700K and a printed IP rating together, look at the Pro 100. For runs past 100 ft, the Lights 2 at 150 ft or the Pro 200 fit better; is 100 ft enough helps you decide.
