Who each one is for

The Govee Pro 100 is for a front that measures 100 ft or less once eave and rake are added together. It has 60 lights at 20 in.

The Govee Pro 200 is for a front that does not fit in 100 ft: a wide two-storey house, a garage return, or a porch run on top of the main eave. It has 120 lights at 20 in over 200 ft. Both kits use the same style of light, so the choice is almost entirely about length and what comes with it.

The differences that matter

  • Length and light count. 100 ft and 60 lights against 200 ft and 120 lights. The pitch is the same 20 in, so the look of the line does not change.
  • Brightness and white. Both are listed at up to 50 lm per light with a dedicated warm and cold white channel from 2700K to 6500K.
  • Cutting. Both can be cut. The Pro 200’s total must not exceed 200 ft. The Pro 100 can be spliced and goes past 150 ft only with Govee’s driver module. Cutting and extending permanent lights covers why you should check the exact model first.
  • Splicing between them. The Pro 200 is not compatible for splicing with the Pro 100 or 150 ft kits or their accessories. Buying a 100 now and a 200 later will not give you one run.
  • Power adapter. The Pro 200 listing says its adapter is for indoor use only, so the supply needs a dry spot. The Pro 100 listing rates its adapter IP67.
  • Weather and mounting. IP67 lights and an IP65 control box on the Pro 200. The Pro 100 lists IP67 lights and adapter with an IP65 control box. Both mount with supplied VHB glue and clips, 2-4 in from the wall.
  • Control. Both list Matter, Alexa, Google Assistant and 75 scenes.

Which to buy

  • Measured run is 100 ft or under: the Pro 100. It is the same light, and you are not paying for 100 ft you will cut off.
  • Measured run is over 100 ft: the Pro 200, cut to length, rather than two 100s. Two runs mean a visible break and a second controller, and the two sizes cannot be spliced together. Measure first with the measuring guide.
  • Cost matters on a long run: the Pro 200 and the Pro 100 both sit in the top cost tier, so the tier does not tell them apart. Only buy the length you measured.

When to pick neither

If you are over 200 ft, neither fits, because the Pro 200 must not exceed that length. If you want wider spaced, larger points with gradients inside each head, look at the Prism 200. If your run is close to 150 ft and you would rather have a tighter pitch, the Lights 2 at 150 ft is the other Govee option. Is 100 ft enough? helps you decide before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I join a Govee Pro 100 to a Pro 200?

No. The Pro 200 is not compatible for splicing with the Pro 100 or Pro 150 ft kits or their accessories. If your run is over 100 ft, buy the Pro 200 in one piece instead of adding it to a Pro 100.

Is the Govee Pro 200 brighter than the Pro 100?

No. Both are listed at up to 50 lm per light with the same 2700K to 6500K white range. The Pro 200 has 120 lights against the Pro 100’s 60 because it runs twice as far.

Can I cut the Govee Pro 200?

Yes, it is cuttable, but the total length must not exceed 200 ft. The Pro 100 is also cuttable and spliceable, and it can pass 150 ft only with Govee’s driver module.

Can the Govee Pro 200 power adapter go outdoors?

The listing says the adapter is for indoor use only. The lights are IP67 and the control box is IP65, so plan to put the adapter somewhere dry.
