Who each one is for

The Govee Pro 200 is for a long roofline that needs warm white and the ability to cut to length. It has 120 lights at 20 in over 200 ft, 50 lm each, and a dedicated white channel.

The Govee Lights 2 (150 ft) is for a front between about 100 and 150 ft where colour matters more than white. It has 108 lights at 17 in, 40 lm each, in the same top cost tier as the Pro 200.

The differences that matter

  • Length. 200 ft against 150 ft. The Pro 200 must not exceed 200 ft in total and the Lights 2 150 cannot be cut or stretched, so treat each nameplate length as the ceiling.
  • Pitch and count. The Lights 2 packs 108 lights at 17 in, the Pro 200 has 120 at 20 in. The Lights 2 is tighter per foot.
  • Brightness. 50 lm per light on the Pro 200, 40 lm on the Lights 2.
  • White. The Pro 200 runs 2700K to 6500K with a dedicated warm channel. The Lights 2 mixes its white from the colour LEDs and stops around 4000K. Warm white vs cool white shows the gap.
  • Cutting. The Pro 200 is cuttable. The Lights 2 cannot be cut: it comes as fixed segments that chain, up to nine, so the length you order is the length you install.
  • Weather. Both have IP67 lights and an IP65 control box. The Pro 200 adapter is indoor use only, so plan the power location.
  • Control. The Pro 200 supports Matter, Alexa and Google, with 75 scenes. The Lights 2 uses Alexa and Google; we do not claim Matter for it.
  • Compatibility. The Pro 200 cannot be spliced with Pro 100 or 150 kits. Do not mix Lights 2 parts with the first Permanent Outdoor Lights either.

Which to buy

  • Over about 150 ft of lit route: the Pro 200. The Lights 2 150 simply runs out.
  • Warm white most nights: the Pro 200.
  • A run near 100 to 150 ft, mainly colour: the Lights 2 150, for tighter spacing.
  • Odd lengths that need trimming: the Pro 200. Measure first with measuring a roofline.

When to pick neither

If the total comes in under 100 ft, both are more cable than you need; check whether 100 ft is enough and compare the Pro 100 with the Lights 2 150. For cuttable kits from other brands, the Enbrighten against the Lights 2 150 is another route.
