The differences that matter
- Count: the Emliviar 2 is two lights in the box; the Kichler Cylinder is one. A symmetrical entrance needs a second Kichler.
- Light direction: the Kichler is listed as Dark Sky compliant, so the light goes down rather than sideways. The Emliviar uses clear seeded glass, which is open to the sides.
- Bulb: the Emliviar socket takes up to 100 W, and no bulb is included. The Kichler takes up to 65 W on a BR30, and the listing says it is dimmable with the right bulb and dimmer.
- Fitting: the Emliviar's product notes warn the glass panels crack if forced past the retaining prong.
- Weather rating: both are UL wet location, so there is nothing to choose between them on that.
