The differences that matter
- Sensor: the hykolity 18 has a built-in photocell, on at dusk and off at dawn, with no timer or app to set. The Emliviar 2 has no sensor on this version, so you switch it yourself.
- Bulb limit: the Emliviar socket takes up to 100 W; the hykolity socket takes up to 60 W. Neither comes with a bulb, so the bulb you pick sets the brightness and the colour.
- Build: the Emliviar 2 is an aluminium frame with clear seeded glass, and its product notes warn that the glass cracks if forced past the retaining prong. The hykolity is an 18 in matte black metal body.
- Weather rating: the Emliviar is UL wet location and the hykolity is ETL wet location. Both are wet-location ratings from different listing bodies, not an IP number, so neither can be ranked above the other.
- Count and cost: both pages show two lights in the box and the same cost tier.
