The differences that matter

  • What is in the box: the DEWENWILS 4 is four spotlights. The VOLT kit is eight uplights plus four path lights, with a 150 W low-voltage transformer, a mechanical timer, 250 ft of direct-burial cable and the bulbs, so it needs fewer extra purchases.
  • Brightness: the DEWENWILS 4 states 540 lm and 14 W per head. The VOLT kit lists 5 W uplights and gives no lumen figure, so per-light brightness cannot be compared directly.
  • Material: the VOLT listing describes solid brass that weathers to a patina instead of corroding. The DEWENWILS 4 is die-cast aluminium.
  • Control: the VOLT kit has a mechanical timer and no app or radio. The DEWENWILS 4 is listed as not dimmable.
  • Weather rating: the DEWENWILS 4 is IP65. The VOLT kit is UL listed with direct-burial cable, a different kind of rating, so the two cannot be ranked against each other.
