S14 48 vs Ambience Pro

Two 48 ft strings with 15 bulbs each, which makes the difference easy to see. Govee's S14 48 lets the app colour every bulb separately; Brightech's Ambience Pro is a fixed-white string with a stated 2 W per bulb.

Govee

S14 48

48 FT · 15 BULBS · IP66

Hung, not mounted: a cable of individually addressable S14 bulbs strung between two anchors. RGBICWW, so each bulb carries a dedicated warm-white die rather than faking 2700K out of red, green and blue — which is the difference between a patio you can sit under and a coloured decoration. The controller is the weak point: the string is IP66 but the adapter is not, and it has to go indoors or inside a weatherproof enclosure. Most of the failures reported on the listing are that step skipped.

Ambience Pro

48 FT · 15 BULBS · 2 W EACH · UL, WEATHERPROOF

15 shatterproof 2 W bulbs on a heavy rubberised cord, sold in 2500K, 2700K and 3000K, fixed white. Up to 20 strands chain. The record on these is less settled than the spec sheet suggests, which is worth knowing before you order.

What differs	S14 48	Ambience Pro	Why it matters
Budget band	Budget	Budget	Same tier. We print neither number; the buttons above open the live listings.
Length	48 ft	48 ft	Same length, so every other row is a straight comparison.
Lights, pitch	15	15 at 38 in
Addressable zones	15	0	A zone is the smallest thing the app can colour on its own. Alternating schemes need one per light.
Per light	65 lm	not stated	Brightness per point. More points at fewer lumens can add up to the same total.
Per fixture	not stated	2 W
Weather rating	IP66	UL, weatherproof	The higher number survives more water. Anything under a gutter wants IP67 or better.

The differences that matter

Control: the S14 has 15 addressable zones, one per bulb. The Ambience Pro has none and is fixed white in 2500K, 2700K or 3000K.
Brightness: Govee states 65 lm per S14 bulb. Brightech lists 2 W per bulb and no lumens, so output is not directly comparable.
Spacing: the Ambience Pro places its 15 bulbs 38 in apart. The S14 gives no spacing, so how the two compare along a roofline is not something the data answers.
Weather: the S14 is IP66, though its product notes say the adapter must be kept indoors or in an enclosure. The Ambience Pro is listed UL and weatherproof with no IP number.
Track record: the Ambience Pro's product notes say its record is less settled than the spec sheet suggests.
