The differences that matter

  • Control: all 15 S14 bulbs are individually addressable, so alternating colour schemes work. addlon is warm white and not colour-changing, with no addressable zones.
  • Spacing: addlon has 24 lights at 24 in. The S14 has 15 lights and no spacing is stated, so addlon should read as the denser line.
  • Brightness: Govee states 65 lm per S14 bulb. addlon does not state a per-bulb figure.
  • Weather: the S14 string is IP66, but its product notes say the adapter is not and must go indoors or in a weatherproof enclosure. addlon is listed as ETL and weatherproof with no IP number.
  • Failure behaviour: addlon's dual-parallel wiring means one dead bulb does not take the strand, and it can be dimmed with a separate dimmer.
